Period help, I am at my wits end and so confused?

Let me start that I was diagnosed with PCOS in '06. I started my period around two months ago. It started out a brown and really light pink. This was unlike my "normal" cycles because usually when it rains it pours but it stayed light and only spotting for a while and then it stopped for around two or three days. Suddenly it came back and was the same brown and pink and its progressively gotten worse. I am now flowing VERY heavy and ping very large clots. I do not want to go to the doctors being I have been fighting with them since I was 14 to help me but they just tell me to go home, rest, and let it stop on its own. I have had a period last eight months straight with no stopping. I was on Clomid for six months, the last cycle was around four months ago. With that being said, Is there any way I can get this to slow down at home??? I am unable to work due to the severity of the bleeding, also do you think a doctor would perform a hysterectomy on a 24 year old woman with no children??? My husband is trying to be understanding and my mom changes the subject when I try to talk to her about this so I don't know where else to turn.
