I need help figuring out the name of this movie.?

I remember that it was somewhere in Africa, and I believe it was some story writer or a Doctor that had gone there to solve a problem. Now, the main thing about the movie was that the villagers were being hunted down by a lion every night. And I remember a scene specifically. It was the middle of the night, and the lion somehow manages to find it's way to a Buffet (The small "Hospital" that the villagers had.) And of course, the lion fed on all the injured of the attacks before. I saw this movie when I was about 12 or 13. And I was very intrigued with it. I'm 19 now, so I think it was a movie from the 1990's. Can anyone help with the name of it? I've been wanting to watch the movie to fully understand what it was really about. (Isn't it amazing how you watch a movie that young, you don't understand a single thing, and when you watch it at an older age, you finally get what it means?)
