Ipod Video Crackling sounds?

i bought a 30GB ipod video last week. Whenever I change a song, the ipod makes a really strange, crackling sound. Also, i have 42 photos. Somehow, about 10 of these photos just delelted off the ipod by them selves! What should I do? I havent don ne thing that cud have made this happen... HELP
